Humble Beginnings/Grand Potential- Due to the limited resources (i.e. time and money) NolaBusiness.com is in a very
rudimentary form. We wanted to give these businesses a means to quickly get their
message online. Unfortunately, Modiphy has been unable to focus enough attention
on the site to make it what it could be, a completely comprehensive resource for
the revitalization of New Orleans business. It isn't very difficult to see the
potential here. This site can, if given the chance, allow small businesses an
opportunity that they might not otherwise have, to get themselves "back in
business." Specific functionalities of the site that would be possible with
the right amount of attention range from a simple "search by industry"
function to the ability for these businesses to actually conduct business via
the site. Nolabusiness.com can be a powerful avenue through which New Orleans
area businesses can get back on track. This can happen with a relatively small
amount of funding. The needs are as follows; Capital enough for 2-3 full time
employees, lease and utilities for one year in an office building in Baton Rouge,
marketing capital. In conservative estimates this amount would total between $160,000
and $200,000.
Philanthropy-
Imagine a small business in Baton Rouge. This business is working on an extremely
limited budget. Because of this truth, keeping their accounts "in the black"
has proven to be quite a task. Faced with these difficult financial times most
companies would be committing all of their resources to profit-making ventures
and giving very little consideration to philanthropic projects. Over the past
few years Modiphy has donated their talents to such organizations as Special Olympics
of Louisiana and Right Quick Productions (a local NPO focused on inner-city educational
films) and are currently in talks about doing work to aid the Louisiana Coastline
Conservation. This philosophy continued immediately after Hurricanes Katrina and
Rita. Modiphy took action very quickly and put together NolaBusiness.com. This
service was created in order to assist affected businesses. It is an avenue through
which these businesses could post their status as quickly as possible, including
current location, contact information, and if/when they plan to return to the
city.
Modiphy, Inc-
Modiphy Technology Group is a small corporation based in Baton Rouge, La. A group
of dedicated professionals that have chosen the road less traveled when it comes
to their corporate path. Four young men with the entrepreneurial sprit coursing
through their veins. They are independent minded and operate their company in
an unorthodox fashion in terms of client relations as well as corporate structure.
Partners Timothy Hendry and Andre Anderson founded Modiphy in 2001 and over the
past 5 years have complied a cohesive team. Each member highly skilled at his
craft. Working together, this group is capable of big things. Blake Gardner is
the deft Systems Administrator, a genius at the inner workings of all aspects
of the technology industry, as well as the computers and servers themselves. Andrew
Goliwas is the master communicator. As Director of Sales and Marketing, he is
the point man for the group. All four together fit together in great harmony and
are poised for major growth.
